Cleaning CCS Pads

I'm sure that this post is on here somewhere, but here goes? What is the best way to clean CCS pads when you are done with them? I've seen a lot of different cleaning solutions at different webs sites and don't know if they are worth it. Thanks for the help.

I haven't tried the pad specific cleaners listed on other sites either.
I either just brush off the dried residue (if it's light) or scrub the pad with the brush and a cleaner (PB's APC, dish soap, whatever) then rinse thoroughly. I try to be careful not to twist the pad much, as I think this contributes to failure of the glue. So far this seems to work pretty well!

I just started using CCS pads and I just put some Dawn on the pad and then rinse with HOT water (compress pad under running water to force out the liquified product). Hot water seemed to be the biggest difference and soaking did not really seem to be a factor me. It was just compressing the pad with the embedded Dawn to flush it all out.

Based upon recommendations that a clean pad performs better, I purchased extra pads so I would use 3 or 4 pads on a car per product so no one pad is really that saturated so they are easier to clean too. So you just stock up on the polishing pads (orange, green, white).

there are some that wash pads and then there are others who never wash them but use a nylon brush and just brush them out...i can go either way ...during a detail I just brush them so they don't cake up , after the detail i wash them with my microfiber in the machine.

What do you wash you micro fibers with? I'm getting ready to place another order tomorrow so I would to order some of what you use. Thanks.

I wash my MF towels using plain Tide using hot water cycle in the washing machine and then add vinegar (plain type) during final rinse to neutralize any remaining detergent and then dry them in the dryer (do not use any fabric softener products).

most liquid detergents are fine as long as they have no bleach or bleach alternative, no fabric softener, and i prefer no fragrence either. I also tend to put a few ounces of APC in to the load to help break down wax and polishes

Has anyone else found CCS pads to be a pain to clean?? Their closed cell composition loves to hold soap suds and residue. It seems impossible to rinse all of the soap out! I usually wash my pads by hand but if I get more CCS pads I'm thinking I'll need to wash them in the washing machine to make sure they get rinsed out thoroughly.

I have used many methods to clean pads and MFs for that matter. I like to use a little dawn and some oxy clean to clean pads. I have used the XMT Pad cleaner and it is good, but any APC would work as well. As for MFs, use a little detergent in a machine, use hot water, and I like to throw in a scoop of oxy clean as well. I let them soak in the hot water for about an hour and then let it do its thing after that. Some like to do a second rinse after and add in a dash of vinegar to soften up the fibers.

I wash my pads in my Rinse bucket using this method.

Murphy's Oil Soap and water. Fill up the bucket and put pads in, let soak over night then rub them clean....run them under cold water ring out then put on the DA over a bucket and spin them out.

Set on Towel in the garage and air dry then back in the storage bin ready for the next use.

I forgot to mention that I have soaked the pads so they float in a shallow pool of water and constantly compress them to flush water through them until they are clean. I have used an APC but it did not seem to help --- just dawn, hot water, and the compression while submerged until they sem clear. I also do not let them get too dirty so I have plenty of pads.
